Nightmare

by Graham Ducker

From the molasses depths

perception struggles

against a morass,

where the body

chases - races

ever harder,

yet slower,

desperate

to escape

a menace

entombing

reaching

clawing

the soul

until in

a sweat

eyes see

one is

still

alive.
